6.0 | Appointment of Chief Executive |
The Leader, as Chairman of the Personnel Board, will report on the recruitment and selection process carried out by the Board. The final interviews of the shortlisted candidatesare to take place on 22nd July 2009 and the Leader will present the recommendations of the Board as to the candidate to be offered the post of Chief Executive.
In accordance with Part 4, Section 8 of the Constitution the appointment of Head of Paid Service must be approved by full Council.

To receive the report on the Cabinet decisions made since the last meeting of the Council on 25 June 2009. Cabinet Members may speak on these decisions and Members may ask questions of the relevant Cabinet Memberfor the purposes of clarification only. Members are asked to note the additional delegations to officers granted at those meetings.

To answer questions received under Council Procedure Rule 10.
N.B. In accordance with the provisions of Council Procedure Rule 10.3 there will be a maximum of 30 minutes allowed for questions and answers. Any question not answered within the 30 minutes time limit will receive a written reply within 5 working days.

12.0 | Noticves of Motion |
Councillor A.J. Eade will move, in accordance with Council Procedure Rule 11, the following Motion.
Tha “That this Council, in pursuance of the provisions of Section 249
Of the Local Government Act 1972, agree to admit The Rifles to be Honorary Freemen of the Borough of Telford & Wrekin at a Special Meeting of the Council. This being in recognition of the service of generations of local men and women in all branches of the forces and in honour of the Borough’s historic links with the former Kings Own Shropshire Light Infantry (KSLI) – of which the Rifles is the successor regiment. And that the Common seal of the Council be affixed to an Honorary Freedom scroll to be presented to the regiment at a separate ceremony, with an associated community based event, to take place in Telford Town Park, on a date to be agreed.”
The Motion will be seconded by Councillor J.M. Seymour
Councillor H. Rhodes will move, in accordance with Council Procedure Rule 11, the following Motion.
“When Public Meetings are organised which involve Council Officers, then all Members will be informed in good time.
In particular those Councillors whose Wards cover part of the Town or Parish Council area in which the Public Meeting is to held will be notified.”
The motion will be seconded by Councillor C.F. Smith.
Councillor A.D. McClements will move, in accordance with Council Procedure Rule 11, the following Motion.
“This Council notes the concern expressed by its partners regarding the lack of consultation by the Council to withdraw from the TSLEC Project. We therefore call on the administration of the Borough of Telford & Wrekin to review its recent decision and give all the partners involved in this project the opportunity to present an alternative option, which will enable this Council to make an informed decision on its viability."
The motion will be seconded by Councillor R.E. Groom.
