16.0 Motion Referred from Council
At the Council meeting on 1 March, it was agreed that the following motion be referred to the Cabinet for consideration: "this Council applauds the lead taken by Shropshire Council with their adoption of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and notes the benefits that would be gained by our own Authority and local communities that include: -delivery of additional funding for T&W to carry out a wide range of infrastructure projects that support growth and benefit the local community -gives the local community flexibility and freedon to set their own priorities for what the money should be spent on -ensures greater transparency for local people who will be able to understand how new development is contributing to their community -enables local authorities to allocate a share of the levy raised in a neighbourhood to deliver infrastructure the neighbourhood wants. Consequently this Council resolves to adopt the CIL as a priority and further resolves that up to and including adoption, 50% of any Section 106 monies are allocated to projects determined in conjunction with the Local community in which development takes place."
